ALLENTOWN, Pa. – When it comes to cleaning up the planet, a Lehigh County man and his dog have their little corner of the Earth covered.<\/p>\n
They have been walking through Cedar Beach Park and the Rose Garden for years, picking up the trash in Allentown.<\/p>\n
It’s the beginning of another walk for Tim Miller and his yellow lab, Angel. Tim sets the pace, but Angel sets the example.<\/p>\n
“She’s starting to wear me out,” Miller laughed.<\/p>\n
Turns out, 8-year-old Angel is unleashed on litter.<\/p>\n
“Either sticks or lots of water bottles,” said Tim Miller’s wife, Liz.<\/p>\n
Angel just can’t get enough of the sound of a plastic water bottle. It has been driving her since she was a pup.<\/p>\n
“It was very early on we used to walk through the neighborhood when I was leash-training her at 8-weeks old, She would just randomly pick things up,” Tim said.<\/p>\n
Angel is like a vacuum cleaner on four paws, while Tim lends a hand. Others have taken notice.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“(People) make comments like, ‘the city should pay you,’ or, ‘how many bottles today, Angel?’ So she’s known for it,” said Tim.<\/p>\n
Everybody can pitch-in on Earth Day, even our pets.<\/p>\n
“It means a lot. Something important like that. And having a dog that you would never expect to do something like that is contributing,” Liz said.<\/p>\n
“I get so upset because these parks are so beautiful and I hate to see all the litter around. So It’s cool when you look at it that.
