WHITEHALL TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Lehigh Valley Health Network wants to build a satellite hospital in Whitehall Township.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The proposed project would be built behind Whitehall Diner, between MacArthur Road and Lehigh Street.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday night, a public meeting was held including Whitehall Commissioners, the public and LVHN, where residents voiced their concerns and had the opportunity to ask questions about the project.<\/p>\n
LVHN is currently requesting a zoning change for the neighborhood from R2 residential to R3 high density residential, which would help facilitate this project if approved.<\/p>\n
“That’s a little controversial having a hospital in a residential district. I think it’s a problem that Whitehall has, thinking about the comprehensive plan of Whitehall and the development that’s accelerating,” said Taylor Stakes, Whitehall commissioner.\u00a0<\/p>\n
