LOWER MERION \u2014 A 73-year-old bicyclist was injured after being struck by a car on School Lane in Ardmore on April 19.<\/p>\n
According to police, the 18-year-old driver of a 2018 Buick Enclave was traveling south on the unit block of School Lane shortly before 4 p.m. when he lost control. The vehicle veered to the left and struck the bicyclist, who was traveling north on School Lane.<\/p>\n
The bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported by Narberth Ambulance to Lankenau Medical Center in critical condition, police say.<\/p>\n
The driver of the Buick was transported to Bryn Mawr Hospital with minor injuries, where he was treated and released.<\/p>\n
School Lane was closed between Ardmore Avenue and Cricket Avenue. Ardmore Avenue was closed between West Athens Avenue and Spring Avenue. The closures lasted approximately three-and-a-half hours, with all roads reopening at 7:20 p.m. while police investigated.<\/p>\n
