{"id":173830,"date":"2026-04-23T13:12:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T13:12:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/173830\/"},"modified":"2026-04-23T13:12:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T13:12:09","slug":"bargain-hunters-gear-up-for-bethlehem-book-fair-that-helps-raise-scholarship-money-for-local-women-bethelehm-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/173830\/","title":{"rendered":"Bargain hunters gear up for Bethlehem book fair that helps raise scholarship money for local women | Bethelehm Area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BETHLEHEM, Pa. &#8211; A beloved book fair is making its return to Bethlehem Thursday, with thousands of items up for grabs, and bargain hunters ready to explore.<\/p>\n<p>69 News Reporter Sydney Kay was in Bethlehem with how this helps raise money for scholarships to help local women.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/bethlehem-pa.aauw.net\/book-fair\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">64th Annual Used Book Fair<\/a> is taking place at the Bethlehem Ice Rink on 345 Illick&#8217;s Mill Road.<\/p>\n<p>Lehigh Valley community members donate books, CDs, DVDs, and records and then return to buy items at the sale, the fair&#8217;s website says.<\/p>\n<p>Rita Bergstrom with the Bethlehem branch of the American Association of University Women said the organization, which has been around for more than 100 years, empowers women.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She said the fair includes many types of books, from children&#8217;s books to adult books to science fiction to mysteries to biographies.<\/p>\n<p>The fair&#8217;s proceeds go to scholarships for girls graduating high school in Bethlehem and Allentown. About 20 or so students receive the scholarships, Bergstrom said.<\/p>\n<p>Preview Day is Thursday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $20 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and $15 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Free Entry Days are Friday through Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The hours are:<\/p>\n<p>Friday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday: noon to 5 p.m. (Half-Price Day)<\/p>\n<p>Monday: 9 a.m. to noon (Bag Day, $10 a bag)<\/p>\n<p>People can pay by cash or check.
