The Lower Merion Aces<\/a> had just enough and edged out the Oxford Hornets<\/a> 3-2 on Friday.<\/p>\n

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (114-112) Lower Merion actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn’t matter. The final score came out to 23-25, 29-27, 19-25, 25-23, 16-14.<\/p>\n

Lower Merion found their leader in sophomore Keira Li<\/a>, who had 12 digs and two aces. Li has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she’s played.<\/p>\n

Lower Merion was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they’ve now served at least five aces in seven consecutive contests.<\/p>\n

Despite the loss, Oxford still got an impressive performance from Fionna Reynolds<\/a>, who had 13 digs and three aces. Maycie Smith<\/a> also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.<\/p>\n

Lower Merion’s victory ended a six-match drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. As for Oxford, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6-1.<\/p>\n
