PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) \u2014 A man who had been shot to death was found inside an SUV engulfed in flames overnight in North Philadelphia, police said.<\/p>\n
Around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, police responded to a report of a person with a gun in an alley behind Malta Street, near Cayuga Street, in Juniata Park.<\/p>\n
There, officers discovered a burgundy Dodge Durango that was on fire, and in the driver\u2019s seat was a 45-year-old man who had been shot in the head, police said. Medics pronounced him dead.<\/p>\n
Police are trying to figure out who was involved and what the motive was. No arrests have been made.<\/p>\n
Jeffrey Smith, who lives a block away, was surprised that this happened here.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe neighborhood is very nice. The people are nice. But it\u2019s the people that don\u2019t live in the neighborhood that come through and do those things,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Family members of the victim said he lived outside the city, and they weren\u2019t sure what he was doing in Juniata Park.
