READING, Pa. – Habitat for Humanity is celebrating the start of its newest project.<\/p>\n
The organization held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new home on West Buttonwood Street today.<\/p>\n
This project is a partnership with the Olivet Boys and Girls Club, who recommended one of its employees for Habitat’s First-Time Homebuyer Program.<\/p>\n
Habitat says employers are struggling to keep and recruit employees because of the price of housing.<\/p>\n
The group says this is a great example of the two organizations working together.<\/p>\n
“What makes this an extraordinary event, it’s a tremendous example of how an employer and an employee can work together for the mutual benefit of both,” said Tim Daley, executive director of Habitat Berks.<\/p>\n
