Termini Brothers Bakery in Philadelphia has decided to buck a trend of price increases by reducing prices on four classic items to make baked goods more affordable amid rising costs for customers.<\/p>\n
Owners Joseph Termini and Vinny Termini Jr. said they reviewed their production and operating costs to implement the cuts without compromising quality or size.<\/p>\n
“Having to see a child not be able buy a cupcake, or watching an elderly woman count change to purchase a coffee cake, simply hurts our heart and is frankly not acceptable, as it is in direct contrast of our core mission,” the brothers wrote in a Facebook post<\/a> on April 10.<\/p>\n Following their initial announcement, the owners of the Italian bakery posted a video on April 16, sharing the list of items they will now offer at a lower price.<\/p>\n According to an NBC10 Philadelphia report<\/a>, specific reductions include 8-inch cakes, tiramisu, coffee cake rings, and cupcakes with substantial price cuts. For example, cupcakes will be reduced from $5 to $3, while 8-inch cakes will be marked down from $40 to $30. Cakes like tiramisu will go from $40 to $30, and coffee cake rings will be reduced from $25 to $15.<\/p>\n The Terminis said they hope to hold the new prices as long as possible.<\/p>\n “It’s something that my brother and I are taking tremendous pride in because we know that my father and grandfather would not have been proud with, you know, the way our products have been priced. And we wanted to do something about it. And we did,” the brothers stated in the video.<\/p>\n Termini Brothers Bakery, in operation since 1921, emphasizes a customer-first philosophy and community accessibility.
