The doors at Carmi Soul Food Restaurant may have closed last year, but for NFL Draft weekend, the owner is back in the kitchen, hoping to turn big crowds into a big opportunity.<\/p>\n
Owner Carleen King is reopened for a limited run.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnytime you bring more people into the city, there\u2019s the potential for more customers,\u201d said King. \u201cSo, you have the potential to make more money. The onus is on you to do the leg work and get them to your door. But, once you do that, then opportunity to develop and prosper is there.\u201d<\/p>\n
King says this event gives her a chance to showcase her food once again, even if it\u2019s only temporary.<\/p>\n
She says at Carmine\u2019s everything is made fresh to order and \u201csmells like home.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cCod, catfish, fried chicken, we have smoked pork ribs, we have smoked leg quarters, macaroni and cheese, greens, green beans,\u201d said King, to make a few.<\/p>\n
