ALLENTOWN, Pa. – It was a bittersweet day at the Lehigh County Courthouse in Allentown.<\/p>\n
Ramona the courthouse companion has called it a career.<\/p>\n
There was a party in her honor on Friday.<\/p>\n
Ramona is a black lab who started working with the district attorney’s office in 2017.<\/p>\n
Her job was to help put adults and children at ease as they go through the court process.<\/p>\n
We’re told she was very good at it.<\/p>\n
But, at 11 years old, Ramona is ready to retire.<\/p>\n
“She is going to enjoy spending days at the park, going to see the ducks,” Kimberly Silvestri, victim and witness unit coordinator, said. “That’s her favorite thing to do now.”<\/p>\n
Ramona has worked with hundreds of people over the years in her role.<\/p>\n
