SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – Former Notre Dame defensive tackle Gabriel Rubio has been drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 210th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n
Rubio had 13 tackles with a half a sack in six games this past season for the Irish. He missed the final six games of the season due to injury<\/a>. <\/p>\n He recorded 66 tackles, 27 of them solo, seven tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble in 39 career games with the Irish.<\/p>\n The 6-foot-5, 320-pound defensive tackle is the sixth Notre Dame player to be picked in the 2026 NFL Draft. Jeremiyah Love<\/a> was picked third overall by the Arizona Cardinals, Jadarian Price<\/a> went 32nd overall to the Seattle Seahawks, Malachi Fields<\/a> was selected 74th overall by the New York Giants, Eli Raridon<\/a> was selected 95th overall by the New England Patriots and Billy Schrauth<\/a> was picked 160th overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.<\/p>\n The Steelers went 10-7 last season and won the AFC North division, but they lost to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.<\/p>\n Stay up to date on local news with WNDU<\/a> on-air and online.
