The Scranton\/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders split a seven-inning doubleheader with the Rochester Red Wings \u2014 winning Game 1, 6-1, and losing Game 2, 9-4 \u2014 on Sunday at PNC Field to take the series, 4-2.<\/p>\n
The doubleheader made up for Saturday\u2019s postponement because of rain.<\/p>\n
After Phillip Glasser gave Rochester (13-14) a 1-0 lead with an RBI in the top of the second, Paul DeJong answered with a two-run homer in the bottom half of the inning to give the RailRiders (14-12) a 2-1 advantage.<\/p>\n
Yankees rehabber Anthony Volpe added RBI singles in the third and fifth innings to stretch the lead to 4-1, and Spencer Jones added a two-run homer, as the RailRiders took Game 1, 6-1.<\/p>\n
Dom Hamel earned the win, allowing four hits, one run and two walks while striking out four in five innings.<\/p>\n
In Game 2, the Red Wings scored the first seven runs before Jasson Dominguez hit a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth, and Duke Ellis hit a two-run triple in the sixth to cut the deficit to 7-4.<\/p>\n
However, Andrew Pinckney put the game away with a two-run homer in the top of the seventh.<\/p>\n
Volpe didn\u2019t play in Game 2.<\/p>\n
