Two men were killed and at least two others were injured in separate shootings Saturday across Philadelphia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Both homicides happened just minutes apart Saturday morning in the Juniata neighborhood. Detectives have not determined whether the killings are related, according to law enforcement officials.<\/p>\n

Officers responded at around 6:30 a.m. to the 3900 block of Frankford Avenue, where they found a 27-year-old man who had been shot multiple times, police said. He died a short time later at Temple University Hospital. The gunfire reportedly happened near a speakeasy.<\/p>\n

Earlier, at around 6:10 a.m., a 21-year-old man was found shot to death about a mile and half away, on the 900 block of Ramona Avenue.<\/p>\n

Authorities have not publicly identified either victim, and there was no word on possible motives. The PPD did not report arrests in connection with either slaying.<\/p>\n

Police said a 24-year-old man was shot in his lower back at around 10:15 p.m. Saturday at 40th and Chestnut streets in University City. He was rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and is expected to survive, according to law enforcement.<\/p>\n

The victim told investigators he and two other people were walking when they saw a man shouting to himself. As they approached, the man began shooting at them \u201cwithout provocation,\u201d the PPD reported in a recap of the incident.<\/p>\n

A short time later, University of Pennsylvania police officers apprehended a 43-year-old man, who witnesses identified as the shooter, officials said. Authorities have not released his name. A gun was also recovered.<\/p>\n

A Penn administrator told the Daily Pennsylvanian<\/a>, a student newspaper, that the victim is not affiliated with the university.<\/p>\n

Just after 2:45 a.m. Saturday, a 38-year-old man arrived at Temple University Hospital with a gunshot wound to his left foot, police said. He was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Investigators said the victim told officers he was walking home from a bar near 6th and Courtland streets in Hunting Park when a dark-colored vehicle with people inside approached. A man got out of the car and shot him without warning, he reportedly told detectives.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information about any of the gun violence is asked to call or text the police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).<\/p>\n

Through April 25, 35 people had been murdered this year in Philadelphia, down from 60 on the same date in 2025, according to PPD data<\/a>. The number of shooting victims has also dropped nearly 40%.<\/p>\n
