{"id":177346,"date":"2026-04-27T16:02:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-27T16:02:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/177346\/"},"modified":"2026-04-27T16:02:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-27T16:02:08","slug":"lower-merion-student-showed-swastika-to-jewish-student-district-officials","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/177346\/","title":{"rendered":"Lower Merion Student Showed Swastika To Jewish Student: District Officials"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ARDMORE, PA \u2014 An antisemitic incident at Lower Merion High School is under investigation after a student drew a swastika on his body Friday and showed it to a Jewish student, according to district officials.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Frank Ranelli, superintendent of the Lower Merion School District, disclosed the incident Friday in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lmsd.org\/about-lmsd\/newsroom\/article\/~board\/district-information\/post\/letter-from-dr-ranelli-regarding-antisemitic-incident-at-lower-merion-high-school\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">letter to the district community<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Later that day, the student who displayed the swastika left campus and posted a video on social media with a threat toward another student, Ranelli said. The video didn&#8217;t mention the earlier incident, but it contained &#8220;concerning language,&#8221; according to Ranelli.<\/p>\n<p>The school district reported the matter to police and will internally investigate.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The student who instigated these incidents will not be in school, pending a disciplinary hearing and due process,&#8221; Ranelli said.<\/p>\n<p>Lower Merion schools prohibit hate speech and symbols.
