{"id":177351,"date":"2026-04-27T16:09:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-27T16:09:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/177351\/"},"modified":"2026-04-27T16:09:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-27T16:09:11","slug":"critical-i-279-traffic-alert-for-jacks-run-bridge-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/177351\/","title":{"rendered":"Critical: I-279 Traffic Alert for Jacks Run Bridge Work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Work to demolish a bridge over the Parkway North gets underway today. <\/p>\n<p>And it means there will be off and on lane restrictions on I-279 in both directions under Jacks Run Road, between now and September.<\/p>\n<p>The restrictions will happen between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. <\/p>\n<p>The closures are necessary so crews can eventually demolish Jacks Run Bridge Number Three, which was closed last July after an inspection found corroded steel on its pier. <\/p>\n<p>While there&#8217;s no time frame yet, Allegheny County Public Works will conduct overnight shutdowns of I-279 and the HOV lanes.<\/p>\n<p>The bridge will eventually be rebuilt next year, since prior to closure, it carried more than 4,600 vehicles a day.<\/p>\n<p>Get more information on the project, detours and more <a href=\"https:\/\/engagement.alleghenycounty.us\/jacks-run-bridge-no-3-replacement-project\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">HERE<\/a>.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Work to demolish a bridge over the Parkway North gets underway today.
