{"id":177395,"date":"2026-04-27T17:06:06","date_gmt":"2026-04-27T17:06:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/177395\/"},"modified":"2026-04-27T17:06:06","modified_gmt":"2026-04-27T17:06:06","slug":"buffalo-erie-county-to-tackle-potholes-with-hot-patching","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/177395\/","title":{"rendered":"Buffalo, Erie County to tackle potholes with hot patching"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Buffalo Mayor Sean Ryan has announced a new partnership with Erie County that will use hot patching to help repair potholes on city roads.<\/p>\n<p>Starting Monday, city and county crews will deploy hot asphalt to repair potholes across Buffalo, with plans to\u00a0operate\u00a0one to two days per week.<\/p>\n<p>According to Ryan, the city has not used hot patches for more than 20 years, opting instead to use cold patches.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The City of Buffalo has been stuck in a cycle of temporary fixes\u00a0for years, and nowhere is it more visible than\u00a0our roads and potholes,&#8221; Ryan said.\u00a0&#8220;This partnership with Erie County allows us to bring in the right equipment, train our workforce, and\u00a0finally\u00a0start fixing potholes the right way.\u00a0&#8220;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The hot patch lasts longer,&#8221; Ryan explained. &#8220;It&#8217;s a fix, not just a temporary fix.
