Three others were injured, and the alleged shooter was arrested at the scene.Jessica Hilliard, 34, of Apollo, was shot and killed outside Niki\u2019s Quick Six in Parks Township. Her sisters told Pittsburgh\u2019s Action News 4 she was trying to help a woman she believed to be involved in an unsafe situation with the suspected shooter.Hillard leaves behind three children.Pennsylvania State Police said the incident began shortly after 1 a.m. when David Dunmire, 36, was involved in a verbal altercation in the parking lot. A woman entered the bar claiming she had been jumped outside, prompting several people to rush out to intervene, police said.Hilliard, one of those who stepped in, was fatally shot multiple times in the chest.\u201cOur sister died a hero, and she is the kind of person who would always jump in to help anybody, regardless of if she knew them or not. And she’s been like that her whole life,\u201d said Amanda Evacheck, Hilliard\u2019s sister.According to the criminal complaint, Dunmire pulled out a gun and fired seven rounds at the crowd while running away, hitting four people.\u201cA man was possibly putting his hands on a female and her and another friend, you know, tried to step in and stop it. And that individual who was, you know, going after the female is the person who ended up shooting,\u201d said Hailey Frawley, Hilliard\u2019s sister.State police said a 24-year-old woman was listed in critical condition, while a 25-year-old man and a 34-year-old man were in stable condition after being shot.\u201cI was heartbroken, upset, angry,\u201d said Eric Crusan, of Parks Township. \u201cNobody should be shooting somebody over some kind of argument in a bar.\u201dHilliard\u2019s sisters described her as a dedicated mother who worked tirelessly to care for her children, who have health challenges.\u201cA very dedicated and great mother. Her kids have a lot of health stuff, and she was on top of it like nobody else could have ever been,\u201d Frawley said.The family is now focused on supporting Hilliard\u2019s children and planning her services. They have started a GoFundMe.\u201cThe GoFundMe is going to help with her service and then taking care of the kids. So we have to figure out their living situation. We have a lot to kind of work towards,\u201d Evacheck said.State police said Dunmire remained at the scene and was arrested. He is facing 16 charges, including four counts of criminal homicide.
