The community-wide party features live music, historic exhibits, and activities for the little ones.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;For the whole time of my mayorship, I&#8217;ve been thinking about this. OK, it&#8217;s really neat. We&#8217;re going to have a 160th anniversary. What should we do? It coincides with America 250. So we wanted to do some things that are special this year. This is the beginning of that, doing a party for the community right here at the Everhart seems like a great way to kick off the spring and the summer, celebrate our city and bring folks together,&#8221; said Scranton Mayor Paige Cognetti.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Today&#8217;s birthday celebration began at noon and ended at 3 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"On Sunday, the electric city celebrated its 160th birthday at the Everhart Museum in Scranton.
