\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
Joan Thomas, 78, of Scott Township died Thursday at home. She was the widow of Ronald Thomas, to whom she was married for 44 years. She was the daughter of the late John and Pearl Pregnar.<\/p>\n
\nShe was a 1965 graduate of Scott High School and remained active with her classmates and organized class reunions. She attended Lackawanna Junior College and East Stroudsburg University, where she received her Bachelor\u2019s degree. She spent most of her career as a Claims Representative with the Social Security Administration, pausing to spend time raising her son.<\/p>\n
\nJoan was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Scranton and was a supporter of Countryside Community Church in Clarks Summit. She enjoyed her time as a member of the Covenant Women\u2019s Circle and as a member of her exercise group. Joan was appreciative of the family and friends that had been such a help to her recently.<\/p>\n
\nJoan is survived by her son, Brian, his wife Jessica; sister Nancy Pregnar, her husband James Bostic; and nephew Austin Bostic; and many cousins.<\/p>\n
\nServices will be held on Friday, May 1, at 11:00 a.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Scranton. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.<\/p>\n
\nIn lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church \u2013 550 Madison Avenue, Scranton, PA 18510.<\/p>\n
\nArrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.<\/p>\n
