Some residents in Northampton County are asked to voluntarily conserve water after several months of dry weather.<\/p>\n
Customers in the Nazareth service area are asked to reduce their water usage to avoid a more serious problem if dry weather continues, Pennsylvania American Water said in a news release.<\/p>\n
The notice applies to customers in the following areas: Bushkill, Easton, Forks, Lower Nazareth, Nazareth, Palmer, Pen Argyl, Plainfield, Stockertown, Tatamy, Upper Nazareth, Washington and Wind Gap.<\/p>\n
The company recommends eliminating the following things to reduce water usage:<\/p>\n
Watering lawns, gardens, trees, shrubs or any other plants except by hose or container
\nUsing water to wash paved surfaces
\nWater use for ornamental purposes, such as fountains
\nWater use for cleaning vehicles
\nServing water in clubs or restaurants unless specifically requested
\nUsing water to flush sewers unless deemed necessary<\/p>\n
The voluntary water conservation request is in effect until further notice.<\/p>\n
