A Moosic man will serve up to a decade in state prison for possession of 201 files of child sexual abuse material, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Lackawanna County Judge Michael Barrasse sentenced Lucas E. Kelsey to five to 10 years in prison, plus six years of probation, on felony charges filed last year by the Child Predator Section of the attorney general\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
Kelsey pleaded guilty to the charges in October. He must also register his whereabouts with police, following release from prison, for 15 years.<\/p>\n
\u201cPossessing child sexual abuse material is not a victimless crime, and this prosecution and sentence should make clear the severity of this heinous conduct,\u201d\u00a0 Sunday said. \u201cDownloading and viewing this material is child abuse. I commend our Child Predator Section for continuing to seek out offenders and hold them accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n
Agents served a search warrant at Kelsey\u2019s Springer Street home in March 2025 and found the material on hard drives.<\/p>\n
