BETHLEHEM, Pa. – LANTA held a public hearing on Wednesday night in Bethlehem as it proposes another round of service cuts.\u00a0<\/p>\n
LANTA’s executive director Owen O’Neil says the potential cuts represent a 7% reduction in service, with several bus lines cutting their first or last trips of the day, along with some modified weekend hours.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The authority explained the proposed changes during Wednesday’s hearing and answered questions from riders.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“The service cuts are part of kind of a two year plan we’re rolling out to set ourselves up better financially in the long-term what we think our funding levels are going to be,” O’Neil said.<\/p>\n
In a statement to 69 News, the coalition for appropriate transportation says LANTA is doing the best it can given its financial situation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
