OBITUARY

Carol Shnipes (ne Hennemuth) of Jessup passed away on April 25th, 2026, after a brief, peaceful stay at Allied Hospice. We lost our beloved mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. Born February 27th, 1938, in Nutley, New Jersey, Carol was the daughter of Roland Hennemuth and Marjorie Evans Hennemuth. She moved with her family to Archbald at five years old, and she graduated in 1956 from Archbald High School.

For most of her career, Carol was employed as a Therapy Activity Service Worker in the occupational therapy department at Clarks Summit State Hospital. A talented artist with an entrepreneurial spirit, she and a close friend opened Mugs Ceramic Shop in 1981. She later went on to open Carols Corner Ceramics and then become co-owner of Affordable Tax Services. In all of her pursuits, she cherished the relationships she built with everyone she met. She enjoyed reading (reading over 100 books a year!), jig saw puzzles, and all things artistic, from painting to writing, and she was an avid fan of Philadelphia sports teams – specifically the Phillies and the Eagles.

Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Roland (Ron) and an infant daughter, Mary. She is survived by two children, Robert Shnipes and Geri Shnipes; daughter-in-law MaryAnn Shnipes; three grandchildren, Brooke Shnipes, Alexandra Shnipes, and Zachary Shnipes; and several nieces and nephews.

The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support they have received through phone calls and messages. The family would also like to thank the selfless nurses at Allied Rehabilitation Center and Hospice for their kindness and care.

Friends may call Saturday from 4:00 until 6:00 PM in the Robert E. Decker Funeral Home, 702 River St., Peckville. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
