A 49-yrar-old homeless man was arrested after allegedly attempting to rob an Upper Darby bank last week.<\/p>\n
Michael McGuigan, originally of Philadelphia, was charged with robbery and unlawful taking.<\/p>\n
According to the criminal complaint filed by Detective Mazen Malak:<\/p>\n
Officers were called to the Bank of America in the unit block of 69th Street at 10:32 a.m. on Oct. 8 for an attempted robbery.<\/p>\n
Police radio relayed information that a white male with blond hair, short facial hair wearing a green shirt, dark green pants and tattoos on a hand was still in the bank.<\/p>\n
On location, police found McGuigan outside the bank. He admitted to police he had attempted to rob the bank.<\/p>\n
Detectives interviewed a teller who told police McGuigan approached the his window and attempted to open a small customer service window and force his hand through the opening and stated, \u201cGive me the money.\u201d<\/p>\n
When asked if it was a robbery he stated, \u201cYes it is,\u201d the teller told police.<\/p>\n
McGuigan was arraigned before District Judge Wilden H. Davis who set bail at 10 percent of $100,000, which the suspect was unable to post.<\/p>\n
He was taken to Delaware County prison to await a preliminary hearing scheduled for Oct. 20 before District Judge Harry J.
