WEST CHESTER, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — 12-year-old Brayden Baldwin from Wallingford, Pennsylvania, dreams of becoming an NHL goaltender.<\/p>\n
Of course, he wants to play for his favorite team: the Philadelphia Flyers.<\/p>\n
But his greatest challenges yet have occurred in a hospital room, facing off against childhood cancer twice.<\/p>\n
Baldwin was first diagnosed around the age of 3, and once again around the age of 6.<\/p>\n
He and his family never stopped fighting. And as of January 2026, he calls himself a survivor.<\/p>\n
Baldwin attends an in-person academy, Total Package Hockey Academy Philadelphia<\/a>. There, he spends a chunk of his day doing activities such as working out, yoga, and of course, practicing ice hockey at the next-door Iceline Quad Rinks.<\/p>\n The rest of his day is spent taking classes through the online school, Agora Cyber Charter School<\/a>.<\/p>\n The unique balance has given Baldwin the flexibility to chase his dreams without falling behind on school work.
