Leg. passes bill for 12-, 13-year-olds to hunt deer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A\u00a0bill that would allow\u00a012- and 13-year-olds\u00a0to get their licenses to hunt deer in Erie County\u00a0when accompanied by a mentor\u00a0is that much closer to becoming a law.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The bill was passed on Thursday by the Erie County\u00a0Legislature\u00a0and\u00a0now heads to\u00a0County\u00a0Executive Mark Poloncarz&#8217;s desk for approval.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Erie County is\u00a0currently\u00a0the\u00a0only upstate New York county that does not allow\u00a012- and 13-year-olds\u00a0to hunt deer with a hunting licensed mentor.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Currently, 12- and 13-year-olds can hunt, they just can&#8217;t hunt deer,&#8221; said Lindsay Lorigo, (R) Erie County Legislature, District 10. &#8220;I think in Erie County we should allow them to hunt deer.
