Rep. Manuel Guzman\u2019s (D-Berks) bill would allow for digital registration cards. A bill from Rep. Ed Neilson (D-Philadelphia) would allow digital diver\u2019s licenses and identification cards.<\/p>\n<p>Neilson pointed to the growth of digital wallets, such as Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, that have expanded to store information from passports and IDs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs technology keeps changing, more Pennsylvanians want the convenient and secure option of going paperless by using electronic driver\u2019s licenses and ID cards,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><a class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.abc27.com\/pennsylvania-politics\/house-passes-bill-allowing-separate-championships-for-private-public-schools\/?ipid=promo-link-block1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:House passes bill allowing separate championships for private, public schools;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\"> House passes bill allowing separate championships for private, public schools <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The bills don\u2019t require Pennsylvanians to go digital. Anyone who makes the switch would still need to show a physical license and registration during a traffic stop. However, the Transportation Security Administration accepts digital IDs from 21 states.<\/p>\n<p>New Jersey created a voluntary digital ID program last year.
