Pittsburgh has announced another organization is making a financial commitment to the city. <\/p>\n
The Richard King Mellon Foundation is contributing $1.9 million to the City of Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n
$1 million dollars will go towards the city’s Learn and Earn program, which gives young people ages 14-23 a chance to have a summer job. <\/p>\n
The RK Mellon Foundation’s contribution will now allow the program to be year-round for the youth.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s huge, that\u2019s life-changing for some of our kids in the City of Pittsburgh so, very excited, I think that\u2019s a huge win for everyone,\u201d said Mayor Corey O\u2019Connor.<\/p>\n
Funds will also be used to redesign Mellon Square storefronts downtown into a new restaurant and for the city’s Independence Day celebration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Pittsburgh has announced another organization is making a financial commitment to the city.
