A Bethlehem man could serve up to 67 years in a state prison after a Northampton County jury on Thursday found him guilty of numerous crimes related to his attempt to have sexual contact with an undercover law enforcement agent posing as a 15-year-old boy on the dating app Grindr.<\/p>\n
Donald Steven Lorish, 61, was found guilty of attempted involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, attempted statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of acommunication facility.<\/p>\n
According to Northampton County District Attorney Stephen G. Baratta, Colonial Regional Police and the Homeland Security Investigations Human Trafficking Taskforce were conducting an investigation in July 2024 when an agent posing as a minor made contact with Lorish.<\/p>\n
Lorish engaged in sexually explicit conversations with the agent and arranged a July 22 meeting on Overlook Drive in Hanover Township. Once Lorish arrived at the meeting he was taken into custody.<\/p>\n
\u201cDetectives verified that Lorish was aware that he was communicating with an individual he believed to be 15 years old,\u201d Baratta said in a statement.<\/p>\n
Following a two-day jury trial before Judge Michael J. Koury, Lorish was found guilty and his bail was revoked. He\u2019ll be sentenced Aug. 28, following a Megan\u2019s Law investigation.<\/p>\n
