If you were betting on a warm opening day for Waldameer as the park kicked off its 2026 season today, you may have gotten some sunshine but lost that bet on the temperatures.<\/p>\n
Despite the chilly conditions, Waldameer\u2019s chief operating officer says the park was ready to go, and every amusement ride scheduled for the day operated as planned.<\/p>\n
Guests we spoke with didn\u2019t let the cold stop them. One longtime Waldameer fan said they were excited to get back on the coasters and weren\u2019t about to let a little wind stand in the way.<\/p>\n
For many visitors, opening day is also about spending quality time together.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s really fun to get to ride the rides with family and friends and get to laugh a lot on the rides,\u201d said Saphira, one of the riders.<\/p>\n
Brian, Waldameer\u2019s chief operations officer, says while the weather wasn\u2019t ideal, it\u2019s still the beginning of another season.<\/p>\n
