{"id":182990,"date":"2026-05-03T18:16:26","date_gmt":"2026-05-03T18:16:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/182990\/"},"modified":"2026-05-03T18:16:26","modified_gmt":"2026-05-03T18:16:26","slug":"sixers-knicks-tickets-for-playoff-games-at-xfinity-mobile-arena-restricted-to-philadelphia-area-residents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/182990\/","title":{"rendered":"Sixers-Knicks tickets for playoff games at Xfinity Mobile Arena restricted to Philadelphia-area residents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The last time the Philadelphia 76ers hosted the New York Knicks in the playoffs, Joel Embiid said the Xfinity Mobile Arena \u2013 then the Wells Fargo Center \u2013 felt like playing in &#8220;Madison Square Garden East.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So as the Sixers prepare to meet their division rivals in the Eastern Conference semifinals, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/philadelphia\/news\/philadelphia-76ers-move-second-round-game-7-win-over-celtics\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the former MVP<\/a> urged Philly fans to fill the home seats.<\/p>\n<p>His message following Saturday&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/philadelphia\/news\/philadelphia-76ers-boston-celtics-game-7\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Game 7 win over the Boston Celtics<\/a> was plain: &#8220;Don&#8217;t sell your tickets.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And now in an effort to ensure the atmosphere at Xfinity Mobile Arena feels like home, and seemingly to keep New York fans out of South Philly, the team is restricting who can buy tickets for Games 3, 4 and 6 in round two.<\/p>\n<p>A message emailed to fans Sunday morning and posted on the Sixers&#8217; ticket website says, &#8220;Xfinity Mobile Arena is located in Philadelphia, PA. Sales to this event will be restricted to residents of Greater Philadelphia area. Residency will be based on credit card billing address.
