He had a tremendous showing in the preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars going 20-of-28 for 233 yards and three touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Prior to joining the Steelers, Thompson was a seventh-round pick of the Miami Dolphins out of Kansas State in the 2022 NFL Draft. He appeared in 11 games with the Dolphins, including a playoff start in relief of Tua Tagovailoa against the Buffalo Bills.
