The group endorsed Fetterman in his 2022 bid for U.S. Senate<\/a>, but sharply rebuked the Keystone State\u2019s senior senator in a social media post Sunday.<\/p>\n

The post was a reaction to Fetterman\u2019s recent appearance on Fox News\u2019s The Sunday Briefing when he discussed supporting Gov. Ron DeSantis <\/a>(R-FL) for a Cabinet position.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not sure what he\u2019s up for the job, but I voted for some of those members of the Cabinet because, you know, like Marco Rubio, I think he\u2019s done a great job overall, too,\u201d Fetterman said. \u201cIt used to not be very controversial to absolutely vote for these kinds of people just because it happens to be the opposite party.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fetterman also criticized his party for their lack of collaboration with the Trump administration.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now, our entire party\u2019s been defined by TDS,\u201d referencing \u201cTrump derangement syndrome,\u201d a term typically used by Republicans to describe irrational negative reactions to President Donald Trump<\/a> and his policies.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to find a way to work together, and we can agree on some things, and we\u2019re going to disagree on other things, as I\u2019ve done,\u201d Fetterman added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fetterman has distanced himself from his fellow Democratic lawmakers by supporting the Trump administration. Both Democrats and Republicans have called for the Pennsylvania senator to switch political parties.<\/p>\n

Fetterman defended his standing in the Democratic Party in a different appearance on Fox News last week.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy voting record actually reflects that I am a Democrat,\u201d he said<\/a>. \u201cWhat\u2019s changed me with many of my other colleagues is I don\u2019t agree, and I use extreme rhetoric \u2026 but I support what I think most Americans should agree with these things.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Fetterman defended his Democratic affiliation, a February Quinnipiac University poll<\/a> demonstrated he had higher approval ratings among Republicans than Democrats.<\/p>\n
