(WOLF)  \u2014 The Linden Street Bridge in Scranton is now closed to traffic, creating a detour for motorists looking to cross the Lackawanna River into Central City or West Scranton.<\/p>\n<p>PennDOT had announced the bridge \u2014 which spans the Lackawanna River and railroad tracks between 7th Avenue and Mifflin Street \u2014 would shut down starting May 6 for a long-term rehabilitation project.<\/p>\n<p>The closure is expected to remain in place through the end of the year while crews complete repairs. Pedestrian access will still be allowed during construction.<\/p>\n<p>Drivers are being directed to use a detour via 7th Avenue and Lackawanna Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Motorists can check traffic conditions and updates through PennDOT\u2019s 511PA system.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"SCRANTON, LACKWANNA CO.
