An Archbald man is accused of hitting his wife over the head several times and pulling her hair during an argument on April 30, according to a criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
Thomas Singer, 53, of 353 N. Main St., faces charges of assault and harassment.<\/p>\n
According to the complaint, at about 11:45 p.m. Archbald police were called to the residence for the report of a domestic assault.<\/p>\n
Officers responded at the request of emergency medical personnel who found Jill Singer outside the home, bleeding from the top of her head.<\/p>\n
According to the complaint, Jill Singer told medical personnel that her husband had beaten her.<\/p>\n
When police arrived, they found Jill Singer in an ambulance, being cared for by EMS.<\/p>\n
She told officers the two had been fighting about their marriage when Thomas Singer hit her and pulled out large amounts of her hair.<\/p>\n
She told officers she had \u201chead butted\u201d her husband in an effort to protect herself and that he was also bleeding.<\/p>\n
Officers found Thomas Singer in the front yard with his hands in his pockets and noted he smelled of alcohol.<\/p>\n
When asked what happened, Thomas Singer mumbled and refused to speak with officers.<\/p>\n
Officer Mark Striefsky then went back into the house to search for additional evidence and found large amounts of Jill Singer\u2019s hair in the bedroom.<\/p>\n
Thomas Singer later denied hitting his wife or pulling her hair.<\/p>\n
He remains at Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.<\/p>\n
