On Wednesday night, the New York Yankees<\/a> will play the Texas Rangers<\/a> (at home) in the Bronx for the second game of their series.<\/p>\n

Also on Wednesday, their Triple-A Team (SWB RailRiders) played the Worcester Red Sox<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Anthony Volpe<\/a> finished the 9-7 victory<\/a> with one run and one strikeout in six at-bats.<\/p>\n

Volpe\u2019s Background<\/p>\n

Volpe was picked in the first round of the 2019 MLB<\/a> Draft.<\/p>\n

As a rookie (in 2023), he won a Gold Glove Award.<\/p>\n

Last season, the 25-year-old batted .212 with 19 home runs, 72 RBI\u2019s, 65 runs and 18 stolen bases in 153 games for the Yankees.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, the team made a big announcement about Volpe.<\/p>\n

The Yankees wrote (via X) on May 3:<\/a> \u201cFollowing today\u2019s game, the Yankees returned INF Anthony Volpe from his rehab assignment, reinstated him from the 10-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Scranton\/Wilkes-Barre.\u201d<\/p>\n
