LOWER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. – It’s National First Responders’ Day, a time to honor the brave men and women who keep us safe each and every day.<\/p>\n
Kids at one local preschool got a special lesson about what those professionals do and how they help our communities.<\/p>\n
Through card making, playing dress up, and taking a peek inside of an emergency vehicle, preschoolers at The Learning Experience in Lower Macungie Township are getting a firsthand look at what first responders do in their communities.<\/p>\n
“Oh, we had the ambulance come today and the kids were very excited. They ran inside the ambulance, and they checked everything out,” said Jaqueline, a teacher at The Learning Experience.<\/p>\n
“Their eyes were as big as saucers because they were like, ‘Wow I get to go into an ambulance for the first time’,” said Dawn Loch, preschool 3 lead teacher<\/p>\n
The festivities are more than just fun for the students. They also help teach some important lessons.<\/p>\n
“We wanna share with them that the first responders are there to help us and they’re not scary,” said Gwen Cromer, owner of The Learning Experience.<\/p>\n
