The Gladwyne home of the late, beloved WMMR-FM DJ and radio icon Pierre Robert hit the market last week, six months after he died unexpectedly at the age of 70. <\/p>\n

His longtime mid-century modern Gladwyne home, which he purchased in 1989, was designed by architect Irwin Stein. The 3,419-square-foot home has a folded plate roof that listing agent Marc Hammarberg says \u201cappears to sort of float above the house.\u201d <\/p>\n

It also has ample floor-to-ceiling windows that look out on nature, as well as a heated pool, and an original bomb shelter. <\/p>\n

An Ardmore man, Cory Scott, 26, has pleaded guilty<\/a> to conspiracy to steal government funds, theft of government funds, and mail theft for his involvement in reselling U.S. Treasury checks valued at more than $84 million that were stolen from the mail<\/a>. Three other men involved in the scheme also pleaded guilty. <\/p>\n

While most of Lower Merion has adequate access to childcare, that\u2019s not the case in parts of Bryn Mawr and Rosemont, where there\u2019s a scarcity of licensed childcare facilities<\/a>, according to new data from the nonpartisan Center for American Progress. <\/p>\n

Bala Cynwyd is one of the only office markets outpacing Philadelphia\u2019s West Market Street corridor, according to new Center City District data. That\u2019s all the more notable given Center City has a 20% vacancy rate, which is lower than many of its peer cities<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Bryn Mawr Hospital and Lankenau Medical Center were both recognized among America\u2019s Best Maternity Hospitals for 2026<\/a> by Newsweek. The outlet partnered with Statista to name 460 facilities nationwide, taking into account hospital quality, patient experience, and the facility\u2019s reputation.<\/p>\n

The community is mourning the death of Bala Cynwyd native Clifford C.R. Hood, who died earlier this spring at the age of 99. The former public relations and advertising executive promoted Dick Clark\u2019s Bandstand and other popular shows during his career<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Two area farmers markets are opening for the season. The Narberth Farmers Market returns today<\/a> and will be open Thursdays from 3 to 7 p.m. until October. And Bala Cynwyd Farmers Market kicks off its season<\/a> next week. It\u2019s open Wednesdays from 3 to 6 p.m. through Oct. 7. <\/p>\n

The township is partnering with Goodwill for a donation event Saturday<\/a> from 9 a.m. to noon at the Lower Merion Transfer Station. Participants must be Lower Merion residents. <\/p>\n

\ud83c\udfeb Schools Briefing<\/p>\n

LMSD is reconsidering whether it will give a tablet or computer to each elementary school student amid a grassroots effort led by a group of parents to push back against the use of district-issued devices. The issue is expected to be taken up again at the Monday school board policy committee meeting, The Inquirer\u2019s Maddie Hanna reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

International Baccalaureate testing continues for select students and the spring Keystone exams testing window starts Monday for select high school students. Tonight is Harriton High School\u2019s choir and jazz band spring concert, and next week, several schools are hosting their spring concerts. There are school board committee meetings Monday evening. Good news for foodies: Two new restaurants are opening in the area in the coming months. Merrick\u2019s Tavern, part of the new Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel<\/a> in Radnor, is targeting a late-May opening. It will be followed by Pomelo Rooftop Terrace, which is slated to debut this summer. And Ogyu, which takes over the former Iron Hill space in Ardmore, is looking to open in June, The Inquirer\u2019s Michael Klein reports<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Looking for a place to celebrate Mother\u2019s Day this weekend? Main Line Today<\/a> rounded up over a dozen area spots, including The Inn at Villanova University and White Dog Cafe, which has locations in Haverford and Wayne. <\/p>\n
