Jamele Ransom was on duty outside a southwest Philadelphia elementary school when a stolen truck ran a red light and crashed into an SUV next to a playground on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

He was quickly praised as being \u201ciconic\u201d for a colorful interview he gave soon after the drama \u2014 in which he licked an ice cream cone while dancing around to reflect how he\u2019s been \u201cbobbing and weaving\u201d during the drama.<\/p>\n
\u201cI tell you, he ran the red light, T-boned the lady,\u201d recalled Ransom with his crossing-guard cap turned sideways on his head.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m bobbing and weaving,\u201d he said, shimmying sideways to reflect his fast movements.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m just thankful. Thankful to be alive right now. Thank you, Jesus!\u201d he said, slurping one more time from his ice cream.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had to pull a kid out!\u201d he told the reporter of his heroics, explaining he \u201chad to pull whathername\u2019s kid out.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI grab a kid out, because he\u2019s stuck, frantic, pull him out. Ain\u2019t nobody in there. Guy\u2019s in there. He\u2019s trapped in there. Then I run out and get myself together because my heart is boom, boom, boom, boom,\u201d Ransom went on.<\/p>\n
He said he only avoided getting hit himself because he was standing \u201cin the shade because it\u2019s an 82-degree day today,\u201d also explaining the ice cream he repeatedly licked during the interview.<\/p>\n
