{"id":186863,"date":"2026-05-08T04:21:18","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T04:21:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/186863\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T04:21:18","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T04:21:18","slug":"city-councilmember-pittsburgh-police-launch-new-strategy-to-fight-against-illegal-racing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/186863\/","title":{"rendered":"City councilmember, Pittsburgh Police launch new strategy to fight against illegal racing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 A city councilwoman is unveiling a new strategy to fight back against reckless racing and burnouts in Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">It\u2019s a QR code that sends residents\u2019 concerns directly to the police. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">\u201cI think they\u2019re frustrated, and they feel like their voices aren\u2019t being heard as much as they\u2019d like,\u201d Kim Salinetro said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Neighbors are frustrated about people of all ages doing burnouts and drag racing right outside of their homes, sometimes all night!<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s a little bit distracting for the residents who have to live on Grandview,\u201d Mount Washington resident Lincoln Kosyla said. \u201cYou have proper signage posted up here that tells you past a certain hour, no loud noise or inconveniences in that sort of way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">City councilwoman Kim Salinetro says it\u2019s also happening on the side streets.
