According to police, Smith’s vehicle drove off the bridge and plunged onto the street below. “Completely devastated. I got the news this morning at 8 o’clock. Myself and my fianc\u00e9 both found out at the same time,\u201d Faynor told Pittsburgh\u2019s Action News 4 Reporter Jordan Cioppa. Faynor said Jackman worked as a cook at Smitty\u2019s Place on Tuesdays and Sundays. He said the shocking loss probably won\u2019t hit him until Sunday, when Jackman would have clocked in for her next shift. According to Faynor, cooking was more than just work for Jackman \u2013 it was her passion. “She loved what she did. She loved being here. She loved whenever she was at Duke’s Rodi Lounge,\u201d Faynor said. \u201cAnytime that she had the ability to be in the kitchen and producing any sort of product that our customers loved.\u201dLoved ones and community members plan to come together for a lantern release at Smitty\u2019s Place in honor of Jackman.
