Jake Virbitsky had four hits, including a home run and a double, and drove in three runs to help power Lackawanna College past Sussex County Community College, 13-4, in the Region XIX Division II baseball playoffs Friday morning in West Windsor Twp., New Jersey.<\/p>\n
Virbitsky\u2019s RBI double in the first inning put the Falcons ahead, 1-0, and his two-run home run in the seventh expanded the lead to 13-4.<\/p>\n
In between, Deacon Brown had a two-run single, Danny Stickney had a two-run double and Justin Abreu had a two-run single.<\/p>\n
Makai Day went the distance on the mound, allowing three hits while issuing three walks and striking out four to notch the win.<\/p>\n
Sean Moore, Kolton Haifley, Brown and Abreu each had two hits for the Falcons, who also played host Mercer County CC later Friday.<\/p>\n
Lancaster Bible 11, Keystone 6: At Christy Mathewson Field, Lancaster Bible jumped out to a 6-0 lead after three innings and held on for a win in the United East baseball playoffs Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Dylan Witkowski had three hits, including a home run, and three RBIs to lead the Chargers (20-16) at the plate. Logan Grimm added two hits and three RBIs and Shane Stephan had a pair of hits.<\/p>\n
Dante Ruby had two hits, including a home run, for the Giants (28-11), who also got two hits from Ethan Schimony.<\/p>\n
Keystone faced Penn State Abington in an elimination game later Friday. The winner of that game advanced to an elimination game Saturday at 3 p.m. against the loser of Lancaster Bible-Penn State Harrisburg.<\/p>\n
Marymount 25, Marywood 6: Marymount had 22 hits, including six home runs on the way to rolling past Marywood in the Atlantic East tournament in Hacketstown, N.J. on Friday.Quincy Via had four hits while Frances Swekosky, Anthony Farmakides and Grey Ellenberg had three hits apiece to pace the Marymount charge.<\/p>\n
Via, Swekosky, Farmakides, Ellenburg, Evan Schick and William Alvarez all went deep in the win.<\/p>\n
