LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA \u2014 PennDOT said milling, paving and guiderail installation will affect traffic on Interstate 76 in Lower Merion and Philadelphia next week.<\/p>\n
The work is being done under a $37.9 million project to resurface and repair nearly five miles of the interstate, the associated on-and-off ramps, and more than 20 bridges in Lower Merion Township and Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
Below are travel restrictions related to this work:<\/p>\n
Monday and Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramps to-and-from Girard Avenue to eastbound I-76 will be closed and detoured. Drivers will be directed to follow the posted detour routes. Monday through Friday, June 6, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on sections of I-76 in both directions between the U.S. 1 and I-676 interchanges. Tuesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from Girard Avenue to westbound I-76 will be closed and detoured. Drivers will be directed to use Girard Avenue, Belmont Avenue, and Montgomery Drive to access the ramp to westbound I-76. Tuesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from westbound I-76 to Lincoln\/Kelly Drive will be closed and detoured. Drivers will be directed to continue on westbound I-76, exit at Belmont Avenue, and use the ramp to eastbound I-76 to access Lincoln Drive\/Kelly Drive. Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from eastbound I-76 to U.S. 1 will be closed and detoured. Drivers will be directed to continue on eastbound I-76, exit at Montgomery Drive, and use the ramp to westbound I-76 to access U.S. 1. <\/p>\n
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near or through the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur.<\/p>\n
