{"id":188719,"date":"2026-05-10T17:02:07","date_gmt":"2026-05-10T17:02:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/188719\/"},"modified":"2026-05-10T17:02:07","modified_gmt":"2026-05-10T17:02:07","slug":"ahn-unveils-new-lifeflight-helicopter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/188719\/","title":{"rendered":"AHN unveils new LifeFlight helicopter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">PITTSBURGH \u2014 A local health network is making a $55 million investment to improve emergency medical services in the Pittsburgh region and beyond. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">On Friday, Allegheny Health Network introduced the start of a state-of-the-art LifeFlight Fleet \u2014 one of four medical transport helicopters. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Officials say the upgrade to the fleet will enhance critical care across AHN\u2019s footprint. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">\u201cThis aircraft represents a significant step forward for our LifeFlight program and, more importantly, represents an elevated level of care for the communities we serve,\u201d said Bob Twaddle, vice president, AHN Division of Prehospital Care Services<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">These helicopters, designed specifically for emergency medical services, feature a rear camera that allows pilots to see crews and a bigger cabin that can hold more equipment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The helicopter introduced on Friday will enter service later in May.
