The descendant of the brothers credited with creating the first Philly cheesesteak will make the renowned sandwiches at a Long Island pizzeria \u2014 while wearing head-to-toe Knicks gear \u2014 after losing a bet with the eatery\u2019s co-owner.<\/p>\n

Frank Olivieri, proud owner of Philadelphia\u2019s iconic Pat\u2019s King of Steaks, will begrudgingly wear orange and blue while slinging sandwiches at Dario\u2019s Pizza in West Hempstead after the Knicks annihilated the 76ers 144-114<\/a> on Sunday. <\/p>\n

Olivieri had instigated a friendly wager with the pizza parlor\u2019s co-owner, Louis Cretella. The pair bet on which teams would win, Olivieri siding with the 76ers and Cretella with the Knicks \u2014 and the loser would have to travel to the other\u2019s restaurant and cook for a day in the winning team\u2019s gear. <\/p>\n

\u201c[Olivieri] wanted to make a wager on game three. I said, let\u2019s bet the whole series,\u201d Cretella told The Post.<\/p>\n

Olivieri is accustomed to losing, but held out hope for his Philadelphia team until the bitter end.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe always have a feeling that the 6ers, or anyone else in Philly are going to come back. We\u2019re used to saying \u2018maybe next year\u2019,\u201d he told The Post.<\/p>\n

He shrugged off the impending ignominy, adding that he\u2019s \u201cbeen meaning to try [Dario\u2019s] cheesesteak anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI figured it would be a good way to extend some brotherly love to our brothers up in New York and on Long Island,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n

Olivieri and Cretella haven\u2019t set a firm date for when the cheesesteak connoisseur will grace the Long Island pizzeria, but suggested that this may not be the end of their game.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re willing to do another bet in the next round, whether it\u2019s a place Cleveland or Detroit, so we\u2019ll see,\u201d Cretella said.<\/p>\n

The Knicks advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals and will play the winner of the Detroit Pistons vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers series. <\/p>\n

The friendly wager came about after Olivieri learned his ancestors\u2019 cheesey, meaty creation had come under fire amid the NBA\u2019s Eastern Conference Semifinals, where the Knicks were pitted against the\u00a076ers.<\/p>\n

Many eateries in New York City seized on the rivalry and cheekily desecrated their menus\u2019 Philly cheesesteaks<\/a>, including Dario\u2019s Pizza.<\/p>\n

Cretella changed the menu item from Philly cheesesteak to the Philly SUCKS cheesesteak in the restaurant\u2019s computer system. Hard copy menus also have the \u201cPhilly\u201d crossed out and \u201cF*** Philly\u201d in black marker written over it.<\/p>\n
