PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) \u2014 A man was stabbed to death on a SEPTA platform Sunday afternoon. Officials said the victim was wanted by police for stabbing a dog.<\/p>\n
Authorities received a 911 call shortly before 3:30 p.m. saying the man officers were looking for was at Girard Station along the Broad Street Line.<\/p>\n
But before officers arrived, someone stabbed him.<\/p>\n
“Some sort of altercation, a verbal altercation, which led to the stabbing,\u201d said Capt. Timothy Stephan. \u201cThat suspect did flee the location south on Broad Street toward Poplar. A civilian did take a video with her cellphone of that suspect.\u201d<\/p>\n
The man was alert and speaking with officers when they arrived, but he died at the hospital about an hour later.<\/p>\n
