A Trenton police officer was involved in a crash Monday in Philadelphia following a police chase, according to sources.<\/p>\n
It happened just after 11:15 a.m. at Torresdale Road and Sheffield Avenue in the city’s Holmesburg section.<\/p>\n
The chase began in Trenton, New Jersey, and crossed state lines into Pennsylvania. The chase went down Interstate 95 before ending with the crash just a few blocks off the highway.<\/p>\n
The car that was being chased was able to get away, sources say.<\/p>\n
According to police, the incident started with a motor vehicle stop linked to a weapons investigation.<\/p>\n
Chopper 6 was over the scene, where the officer’s vehicle could be seen stopped on a residential property after apparently crashing through a fence.<\/p>\n
A New Jersey State trooper was involved in a crash Monday in Philadelphia following a police chase, according to officials.<\/p>\n
A damaged white SUV, which was not believed to be involved in the chase, could also be seen on the street.<\/p>\n
The officer and a person in the SUV suffered minor injuries.<\/p>\n
Action News has learned the officer involved in the case was working with a New Jersey state police task force.<\/p>\n
