The sound of sizzling omelets and crowded dining rooms fills Cooper’s Seafood House on Sunday morning, as families gather to celebrate Mother\u2019s Day together. The restaurant hosts its annual Mother\u2019s Day brunch event, now in its third year, bringing generations of families together.<\/p>\n

For Freda Moore, the celebration is also a return to memories from years ago. She says she lived in Scranton when she was a mother of one and remembers coming to Cooper\u2019s back then, something she now continues with her eight children and grandchildren. \u201cI had other plans this morning, but then I was surprised by my family. Next thing I know, I\u2019m back here at Cooper\u2019s again. I enjoy the food here. The people are friendly here, so I just love it,” says Moore.<\/p>\n
The restaurant\u2019s catering and event manager, Janet Strelecki, says events like this are about more than brunch; they\u2019re about giving families a place to connect. \u201cJust seeing all the mothers, everyone happy, and families coming together.\u201d<\/p>\n
Some families attend the Mother\u2019s Day brunch for the first time.<\/p>\n
Jeanatte Mitchell says, \u201cThis is our first time. We\u2019re here with the family. All the moms of the family. We\u2019ve never done this one, and it\u2019s a great buffet so.\u201d<\/p>\n
For many moms here Sunday morning, the most important part isn\u2019t what is on the table, but who is sitting around it.<\/p>\n
Madison Shields says, \u201cIt\u2019s very great. It\u2019s nice to have a family-oriented thing.
