{"id":189864,"date":"2026-05-12T05:44:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T05:44:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/189864\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T05:44:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T05:44:09","slug":"police-identify-man-fatally-shot-near-city-park-in-reading-berks-regional-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/189864\/","title":{"rendered":"Police identify man fatally shot near City Park in Reading | Berks Regional News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police have identified the man shot dead in Reading Monday night.<\/p>\n<p>Ranciel Natera, 30, died after he was found shot in the head outside his apartment building in the 1200 block of Hill Road, across from City Park.<\/p>\n<p>Natera was targeted, according to police, who said he was known to them.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016, Natera had been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wfmz.com\/news\/berks\/pair-nabbed-meth-seized-in-undercover-bust\/99830254\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">arrested in an undercover drug operation<\/a> and charged with multiple drug violations.<\/p>\n<p>His killing is the latest in a string of violence in the city over the past few weeks. There have been seven shootings since late October.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Police have identified the man shot dead in Reading Monday night.
