A Bethlehem Township commissioner is accused of stalking and harassing his neighbors, according to authorities.

Township police on Monday filed charges alleging Michael Hudak, 67, harassed his neighbors and followed them around their property last month.

Hudak is charged with misdemeanor offenses of stalking and harassment, and is free on $35,000 unsecured bail.

Reached Tuesday afternoon, Hudak called the charges “bogus,” and that he was speaking with an attorney about them. He said the charges should not affect his role as commissioner.

Hudak’s neighbors share a property line in the 400 block of Wilson Avenue, and they reported several incidents, according to court documents. They said every time one of them goes outside, Hudak would come out and follow them where ever they went, authorities said. When their family is in the front yard, Hudak would watch them from the property line, and when they are in the back, he would follow and watch them there, police allege.

Court documents also allege that Hudak knows where his neighbor’s security cameras are, and he would show his middle finger to the cameras, or motion with his fingers from his eyes to the camera to insinuate “I’m watching you.”

Investigators found there were 11 incidents reported between Hudak and his neighbors between September 2022 and now, police said. Those incidents include Hudak yelling at them on their property, calling in noise complaints when there had not been any loud noises, trespassing on the neighbors’ property, and purposely damaging land survey stakes on the property line, according to authorities.

Most recently, Hudak followed his neighbor along the property line on March 21, charging documents state.

Hudak, a Democrat, was re-elected in 2023.

A Bethlehem Township commissioner is accused of stalking and harassing his neighbors, according to authorities.
